County Athletics Championships 2011

A very large group of athletes were selected to represent the district  on Saturday 11th June  They travelled to Boston to run, jump, throw their way into the county team.  Athletes that finished in the top three of their event, should secure a place on the County team and compete at the Anglian Schools Championships this weekend.

Daniel Skinner, Joe Shuttleworth, Daniel Fleming, Catrina Thomas, Abbie Donnelly, Bryony Martel, Allison Mouzon, Lauren Ward, Katie McMunn, Ayotunde Adeyemi, Sam Shuttleworth, Oliver Oldham, Laura Donnelly, Sheridan McWilliam and Jacob Wright.

Everyone performed brilliantly and the following are County Champions in their events...

Libbie Read – 1500m, Senior Girls Champion

Jacob Wright – 1500m, Senior Boys Champion

Daniel Fleming – Discus, Junior Boys Champion

Catrina Thomas – 800m, Junior Girls Champion

Abbie Donnelly – 1500m, Junior Girls Champion

There were in total, 11 students from The Priory Academy LSST that finished in the top three and should qualify for the Anglian Schools Championships next weekend in Norwich.
