Netball

Tuesday 14th October 2010

The year 10 netball squad played their second match of the season on Thursday night.  The girls were hoping to continue the excellent play that they had demonstrated against Lincoln Christ Hospital School a few weeks ago. They did not disappoint.  Courtney Thornton was on fire, unable to miss from inside the circle and put 30 goals past the Yarborough defence.  Katie Sutherland worked extremely hard to support Courtney, showing dynamic movement in the circle.  Amy Corner and Jodie Hickman worked tirelessly in midcourt to feed the ball into the circle for our shooters, their pace and dodging skills were no match for the opposition.  The defence of our team was practically impenetrable!  The number of interceptions Anna Standley made warranted her player’s player of the match.  Emma Tonner and Lydia George were rock solid when defending the Yarborough goal, letting only ten past the pair.  Moment of the match; Lydia catching, not punching the ball and crying out “YES, I caught it!”
