Year 10 rounders team remain unbeaten
Our first match was against North Kesteven, we were at a disadvantage having to bat first, however we put this behind us and went on to score some amazing rounders, due to some excellent batting from all of the team. We went on to field with some superb catches from Jodie Hickman and Katie Sutherland and excellent work on 1st and 2nd base from Ellie Phillips and Jodie Hickman. This resulted in many of the opposing team getting stumped out, we managed to hold on to our lead and finished our first match 12 ½ - 4 ½ .
In our second match we competed against Robert Patterson, we were nervous about this game because they bowled numerous fast balls. However, we soon adapted and managed to score a total of 14. An improvement on our last game. We went out to field with a positive attitude which enabled Amy Corner and Jenny Reeves to catch two batters out. With some excellent deep fielding from Sarah Murray and Hannah Warren, and superb teamwork we firmly secured our second win. 14 – 6
In our final match we fielded first, with some amazing bowling from Amy Corner and throws in to bases from Tunde Adeyemi, Ellie Acton and Ellie Phillips we managed to limit their success to 5 ½ rounders. We went on to bat with determination, leading us to 13 ½ rounders. However due to time restraints the game had to be stopped at ball number 14, so we were unable to complete our batting, they conceded the game with numerous no balls. The Final score was 13 ½ - 5 ½ . An excellent result considering we still had 13 balls to go!!
Throughout the game everyone worked tremendously as a team, securing a well deserved win.
