"The highest reward for a man’s toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.” John Ruskin
The curriculum offer at Ruskin, from Year 7 right through to our Sixth Form, will enable your students to go on to make significant contributions to society. We make sure that students who are ready to take their examinations early are entered early and that there is a rich variety of subject choices, beyond the national curriculum that are of genuine interest to students.
We set ourselves and our students challenging targets and provide support to ensure that they are achieved. Progress reports sent home regularly to parents and carers, convey valuable information on how students are developing.
We review progress to ensure that students are on course to achieve their best. If we feel that this is not happening for individual students, we provide additional support. Where students are performing well, we celebrate their success.
The Priory Ruskin Academy has two specialisms, the Visual Arts and Sport & Health, and both contribute to our distinctive ethos.
As a Visual Arts school, students are encouraged to develop important creative, communication and interpersonal skills with opportunities to develop fashion, jewellery making, animation, graphic design and cinematography .
In addition to Sport and Health on the curriculum, students are encouraged to monitor and develop their own health and take part in a range of sporting activities, from team sports to individual pursuits.
