Welcome to The Priory Nursery

Our Nursery is new purpose built accommodation which opened in September 2011 for children aged 0-5 years and is sited within The Priory Witham Academy. 

In The Nursery there is a Baby Room (0-2 years), Pre-School Room (2-5 years), Bedroom, Kitchen, Dining Room, Changing Room and Laundry Room. 

Our outside area is split into two sections; one has a soft play surface for bikes, trikes, prams etc it also has a large walk-in sandpit which is next to a water pulley system and large digging area. 

In this section there is also a garden house which is an area where the children can dress up and play in a pretend shop, where fresh fruit, vegetables and other goods are available. 

The second outside area is accessed by a locked gate through to “Granny’s” Cottage garden.  In the garden there is a babbling brook with a small pebble beach for paddling in with wellies, a “Billy Goats Gruff” bridge, grassed area with trees and a small mound to roll down. 

Walking through the picket fence the children will find sensory plants and vegetable beds where we will be growing our own vegetables; we then come to the Cottage itself. 

Inside the Cottage the children can enter a make believe environment with Granny’s table and chairs, wood burning affect fire, crochet blankets and lots of other period type furniture and fittings for the children to explore and enjoy. 

Coming soon we will be developing a new outside workshop for construction and a “bug hotel” for our local creepy crawlies.
