School Experience Programme

The Priory Federation of Academies is very keen to support those who are interested in finding out more about a career in teaching. To that end, we receive regular visits from people who are undertaking the School Experience Programme, which is run by the Teaching Agency.

It should be noted that time spent in schools observing lessons is vital to a successful application for a School Direct place.

You will be able to apply for the SEP if you hold a first class or 2:1 degree and are considering teaching secondary maths, chemistry, physics, modern foreign languages (MFL), history, English, geography, computer science or biology.

You can also apply as an undergraduate if you:

  • are in your final year of studying for a degree in one of these subjects, and
  • are interested in teaching one of these subjects, and
  • are predicted at least a 2:1 degree
