Uniform
The Priory Ruskin Academy has a strict uniform code that sets out exactly what to wear. In addition to this we have provided additional guidance for students and staff as to how the uniform should be worn. We seek the cooperation of students to wear their uniform with dignity and maturity.
- Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
- Trousers must be worn correctly and if required the use of a plain black belt.
- Tie length must be to the waist. Knots must be tight, and cover the top button. Top buttons must not be undone.
- Coats must be plain navy blue and without logos.
- Bags must be plain black or plain navy blue and without logos. If there are logos they must be coloured in to match the colour of the bag. Reflective strips (for safety reasons) can be used. They must be fit for purpose in that they are big enough to hold books and equipment required for the day.
- If plastic bags are used for bringing in cooking ingredients, they must be plain. The use of plastic bags for carrying other items books and sports equipment is not acceptable.
- Girls skirts must be knee length.
- Hair must not be dyed and no make up should be worn.
- Hair must be cut no shorter than a grade 4, with no edges/lines.
- Blazers and Jackets can be removed in the summer when the Union flag is flying.
- Sleeves must not be rolled up, but short sleeve shirts may be worn.
- Jewellery plain gold/silver ear-ring studs for the girls. One simple ring may be worn. No Jewellery for the boys.
- Scrunchies, Alice bands, winter hats, scarves and gloves must be plain navy blue. Hair slides either navy blue or the colour of the hair.
These standards must be observed whenever the school uniform is worn, including the journey to/from school and when on school visits.
All items of uniform can be purchased from our school shop, details of which can be found on this site. Purchasing items from the shop is highly recommended as this is the only way parents can be absolutely certain their child's uniform is correct.
