University Applications
University Applications
It is our expectation that the majority of our Sixth Form students will gain access to university.
We provide a range of activities for students to support this aspiration.
We guide students through the UCAS application process with both group and individual support. Ex students who have gone to university are used as part of this process. University visits are arranged along with access to open days.
Through our Enrichment programme we facilitate students taking part in community activities to build their CVs and UCAS Personal Statements. Community involvement is an expectation and during 2012-13 sixth formers will be leading a major project with the Grantham Foodbank.
Any gifted students who have Oxbridge potential will be supported by the Priory LSST’s annual Oxbridge Conference that runs during March of Year 12.
The ethos of the Sixth Form is about supporting the student to develop academically and socially with the aim of taking each student to their goal of a university place in their chosen field. However if a student does not wish to apply they will receive support to achieve their goal beyond Sixth Form, whether that be employment or training. We will provide advice on in CVs and interview techniques and also on accessing apprenticeships.
