What are T Levels?

T Levels have been available in the Priory Sixth Form since 2022 as an option for students to choose after their GCSEs.  They are two-year courses which are equivalent to traditional A Levels or BTECs.  They offer the chance to gain occupational skills and knowledge of the wider industry as well as complete a work experience placement for a minimum of 45 days.

T Levels consist of:

The courses are assessed through a mixture of:

  1. Externally set exams which test your knowledge of the Core Qualification
  2. An Employer Set Project which is completed in the classroom and marked externally
  3. Tasks completed on the work placement

What can I do with these qualifications?

T Levels are designed to provide flexibility.  They prepare students to progress to skilled employment or to a higher apprenticeship. The T Level grade is also worth UCAS points for applications to university.  The overall grades for a T-level are Distinction*, Distinction, Merit, Pass; although the core is graded A* to E.

Many universities accept T Levels as entry grades for courses that naturally progress from the T Level studied.  Sometimes they will make an offer purely on points (for example: 120 points); sometimes they will specify a grade to be achieved in the core component as well (for example: 120 points, with a grade C in the core).
