Mental Health and Conditions

At times, trying to make sense of how you feel and what is going on can be quite scary, frustrating and confusing. The following websites provide excellent information about what mental health is, the different types of mental health concerns, and where you can find guidance and support. 

The most important thing to remember is that you are not alone. If you cannot find what you are looking for, or you want to talk to someone, then you can speak to any member of staff who will be able to direct you to the right person. 

Young Minds offers a huge amount of information and guidance for young people.

On their website you’ll find information about where to get help, advice on how to look after your own mental health, understanding the different mental health conditions, understanding medication, how to help a friend and there is also advice on what to do if you need urgent help. They also a blog, where you can read real life stories from young people about their experiences of mental health and how they have gotten through it.

One of the best places to find information about local services is the Lincolnshire Family Services Directory

Within the Directory, there is a page called ‘Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health’. On this page you will find information and advice to help support you when experiencing emotional wellbeing, mental health or behavioural concerns.

They also have a really useful page entitled ‘I don’t know what’s wrong, but I need to talk’.

The National Autistic Society have some guidance and support on mental health for people with autism.
